reflection on the way...

This is my face softening picture. I used the burn tool to make my eyelashes and the area around my eye darker to bring out my eye color. I also used the burn tool on my lips to make them pinker rather than white. I used the dodge tool to make my eye color lighter to stand out and I also used this tool on my entire face to make it lighter and more even tone on my skin. I used the clone stamp for blemishes on my chin and creases on my neck and forehead. I really enjoyed doing this it is really cool to see your face transform. 

I did this assignment before I learned about compision. I made a lot of classic mistakes with this assignment as you can see. I do not have something touching every side of the canvas. I am also positioned in the very center of the image. I did a good job of leaving space and the paint is balanced. The purple leaves overlap the blue stamp and vise versa. Overall I do not think this image works because of the mistakes that I already listed. I do love what I did with the stamps.

This image is figurative, I shot it from an upward angle which I have found to a mistake because you loose Karina's neck and I am looking right up Simone's nose which is very unflattering to the both of them. However I chose to do this originally because I liked the shapes that the gate created and shooting from this angle gave it a cool effect, It's almost like each girl is in their own dimension or somthing if that makes sence because Simone is absolutly unaware of Karina's presence. I printed it dark and on photoshop gave it more contrast and the highlights brighter. I also experinced with writing on my prints like Duane Michaels agian with this particullar image I found it unnessisary though and it probably was better before I did that but mistakes are the key to learning.

Photobooth

I like the idea of this assignment but I do not like how I executed it, because I do not belive that these images are truley a self portrait of me. I tried to make all of them different and convey a different persona in each, but each persona is more of a general feeling everyone has(Vanity,Dorky,Hurt,and Numb) not specific to myself. As far as the process on photobooth I just held very still and did each four that way, dragged all four sets into photoshop got a new canvas copy pasted and used free transform to make them all the same size and they all line up perfectly and I also just went to adjustments and made them Black& White I did not play more because I the artist work we are modeling after all the Black& Whites of herself are the same tones so I just wanted it all to match.
