The image makes me feel total serenity and peace, the nature scene is calm and Troy is a surprise because you do not even see him when you first look at the photo. The work is both figurative and abstract. It is figurative because Troy is in it, but the branches and the different shapes make it abstract, it looks as though he is laying down in an abyss. The Branches are in focus and Troy just blends into the background. He is almost just a shape added rather than a person.Troy is at the bottom of the image and the branches cover the left half of the shot and there is a black stripe that goes down diagonally the image. I added in a pink-ish tone on photo shop to highlight Troy and the background even more. Which also makes the branches stand out even darker. The branches are in focus and Troy blends into the background. He is almost just another shape in the image rather than a person.
I wanted to surprise viewers, but did not anticipate how well it turned out. It is both light and dark, Troy is light and his surroundings are dark. It was taken outdoors.I love this picture, it is most likely my best. It is a hundred percent successful because it captivates you from the moment you look at the photograph, it can represent many things and I think that it is set up in an interesting manner and overall beautiful.
