The work is figurative because you can clearly see her(me) and that she is standing by a tree. Part of the tree is very close but she is further away from the camera.There is a use of depth of field because the closest branch is out of focus and there are different layers of branches after one another. There is a very light green tone to the image and it is clearly in focus accept for the two leaves that are closest, and it was done intentionally. She is also not in the center of the shot which makes it more appealing to the eye.I think the artist is trying to communicate a since of wonder in nature and exploration, but it does have a somewhat sorrowful feeling to the image.I really do like this photo because it looks like the branches are apart of my hair and the placement of my hands. It looks like the wind is blowing and its a gloomy day. I think its successful because it makes you stop and look and think .
